KMG Real Estate Consulting, headquartered in New York City, was founded by Joe Gorin, a respected industry leader with a distinguished 30-year career spanning private equity, institutional investing, and corporate real estate leadership. Joe brings a rare blend of hands-on transactional experience, strategic vision, and operational expertise that enables him to advise clients with clarity and conviction.

From 2015 to 2025, Joe led the restructuring and growth of real estate investing businesses at Goldman Sachs and Barings. He began his career at Equity Office, amassing more than two decades of deep office-sector experience—expertise that is particularly relevant as owners and investors navigate the unprecedented change in the office market today. Joe has been a leader of the Urban Land Institute’s Office Development Council and served as its Chairman from 2017-2020.

Over his career, Joe has completed over $50 billion in transactions including direct acquisitions, joint venture partnerships and operating company investments. KMG’s expertise includes all major property sectors and Joe’s long tenured experience spans multiple cycles including the dot.com era and the Great Financial Crisis.
